It is key to have a balanced and modern partnership with the US, in which we are close allies united by shared values, yet free to act independently. Through joint initiatives in technology, security, and the economy, we can make transatlantic ties a driver of innovation and stability, while ensuring that Europe remains a confident and responsible global actor.
In parallel, Europe needs to take responsibility for key areas such as defense and industrial development, pursuing strategic autonomy. This means investing more in European defense capabilities, strengthening our industrial base, and building critical infrastructure to ensure independence and resilience. Only by fortifying our own resources can Europe be an equal and respected partner in transatlantic relations.
